Modell - Object - Sketch
In architecture, the term ‘model’ is defined; there are concept models, working models and presentation models. This semester, we would like to explore a different concept of the model in an artistic-sculptural process. In doing so, we will build on autobiographical material and material brought in by the participants in the sense of conscious selection and perception.
Guided translation and transformation steps will lead to a change of perspective and a reflection on the meaning and relevance of individual finds. Notations and media changes will be used, among other things. In a discursive process, the potential of the experimental results will be evaluated together and a concept for further processing will be developed. The model or object also serves to quickly and fluidly externalise conceptual thoughts in order to make them visible and discuss them with oneself or others.
At this point, a thematic framework in the sense of translation will be introduced. This will combine knowledge storage with spatial-sculptural possibilities. The aim is to develop an object by the end of the semester and present it in an exhibition setting that combines insights, material and spatial conception.
The semester is divided into the steps of perception, experiment, reflection, concept development and implementation.
