TILTED ARC - A sculpting symposium
The guard stone - inconspicuous and yet central - marks the boundary between the stability of architecture and the dynamics of our society. In a time of car-free city centers, this urban element becomes the subject of artistic research.
Inspired by Richard Serra's monumental sculpture “Tilted Arc” (1981), which showed how physical objects shape public space and social relationships, we explore the tension between material, space and society.
From the clay pit in Pottenbrunn to the sculpture symposium at [kunstwerk] Krastal: using two different materials and techniques - additive in clay, subtractive in marble - we develop contemporary interpretations of this urban element.
