Between handle and beak
The Artistic Project Z takes place this year in cooperation with kultur gmunden 24dreissig, the supporting association for the conception, promotion and realization of projects as part of the Kulturhauptstadt 2024. The course includes the development and implementation of physical objects and their translation into a printed format. The results will be presented in an exhibition and a collective artistic publication.
The starting point of our creative exploration is the jug - an object that, in addition to its everyday function as a container, has a high symbolic value. With its open form, this seemingly banal object raises interesting spatial and social questions beyond its utility value. During the course, artistic projects will be realized that focus on this social function. The jug will not be interpreted as a hermetic container, but as a distributor and communicative link in interpersonal exchange.
The final presentation will take place in the form of an exhibition at the end of June, open to the public and in exchange with an interested audience in the Stadtgarten Gmunden. At the same time, the projects will be published in the form of a publication developed by the students themselves. The presentation of the publication and thus the conclusion of the course will take place at the beginning of October 2024.
