The computational fabrication of a luminaire was the subject of Digital Production and Digital Production Methods courses, core subjects of the Modul Digital Design and Production.

Students learnt how to mediate between ideas, geometry, and material behaviors in order to translate a digital model into a physical object with the help of numerically controlled production machines and programming. After parametrically designing their luminaire concepts, students protptyped and fabricated them by 3d printing, laser cutting, and CNC milling in a variety of materials.
