FROM SPACE TO WEARABLES
As part of the artistic research project 'Trans-Bodied Knowledge', this course deals with the process of translating spatial and physical experiences into the design and production of haptic 'wearables'. Spatial experiences are approached through sound improvisations and acoustics based on graphical notations. Based on this, the 'wearables' are designed and produced based on material properties rather than electronics. The sculptural results will function as playful, sensual instruments: Once attached to the body, they will primarily stimulate the user's sense of touch and kinesthetics, as well as movement and spatial perception. The resulting "wearables" will be presented in a public exhibition at the end of the semester.
